Why subscribe to The Union of Electors ?

Because The Union of Electors enlightens

The Union of Electors is not a "news" paper. It does not print the daily events of the community, the state or the world at large. It does not enlarge upon the multitude of rumours currently engaging the minds of the public. It does not, like so many popular columnists, set itself up as an encyclopedia... No. The Union of Electors does not set forth in detail all the important happenings in the world of politics — provincial, federal or international. There is no necessity for The Union of Electors to repeat what everyone can read in the multitude of dailies or hear via the newscasts of radio and television...

The Union of Electors has another method of teaching and enlightening. It selects only certain facts, or certain decisions of governments, or certain opinions to which the newspapers are giving publicity. It then highlights the true and the false. It seeks out the philosophy underlying such facts, decisions or opinions. It strives to link effects with their causes. It draws conclusions.

Obviously there is no need to go into such an analysis for every word uttered and for every event that occurs. It would involve needless repetition and literally volumes of writing. But through the examples chosen, the reader is drawn to the habit of making his own analysis of events and drawing his own conclusions.

He learns how to shun the slogans which are formulated to effect public opinion. He learns to distinguish the real from the artificial in economic and financial matters; to assign functions properly, not giving for example, to industry the function of providing employment, when, in fact, its true function is that of producing goods.

He learns how to grade values; to give primacy to the human individual so that it takes precedence over money; to, consider associations and groups as the servants of the individual and not vice versa; to demand the necessities for all, before. luxuries for a few; shelter for families before such spectacular developments as interplanetary flight..: The Union of Electors calls the individual back to prin-, ciples; the end of life; the universal end of all goods created; by God; the brotherhood of men as sons of God and menibers; of the Mystical Body of Christ;-respect and aid for the poor, regardless of what might be the cause of such poverty.

Because The Union of Electors educates...

The Union of Electors is not satisfied with teaching only... By the councils it gives in its pages, through the published activities of the movement of The Union of Electors, this publication is an organ, for those who wish to learn, for the training of men and women in proper political activity.

The Union of Electors would strive to form men and women who see clearly and act effectively. Men and women who will take the responsibility of political action not only at election time but throughout the year; who will take their pen in hand or raise their voices to cry out against injustices; who will stand up and be counted among those who oppose creeping Socialism and all tendencies towards centralisation at the expense of the individual's liberty; who will act to help the poor, not only through encouragement and the donation, personally, of help, but through fighting for those monetary principles of Social Credit which will make possible for every individual to share, in the abundant stocks of the necessities of life which this country produces.

Because The Union of Electors creates

... a liberating force. The Union of Electors, as its name indicates, would teach all citizens to unite for effective action in the fulfillment of their wishes. It is opposed to political parties as they exist today. For political parties divide the citizens and make them easy prey for inimical forces. The Union of Electors is opposed to even a "Social Credit" party, maintaining that we do not need more parties, but rather more citizens united to bring effective influence to bear on the government to achieve what is best for the individual and not what is most to the interest of those groups of individuals who make up political parties.

The Union of Electors would serve as a bond between all those men and women who are tired of the futility of party politics and are searching for a means whereby the individual may be guaranteed security with individual liberty.

The voice of The Union of Electors is the voice of justice; it is the voice of the poor who themselves have no voice... The greater the number of readers of The Union of Electors, the more widespread will become the principles and teachings of Social Credit, of the movement of The Union of Electors:

  • to demand the distribution of abundance to all;
  • to improve and ameliorate the lot of the family;
  • to see that more generous family allowances are given;
  • to liberate the family and the individual from material worries;
  • to accomplish this through the issuance of a periodic dividend to all, guaranteeing to all a share in the enormous production of our modern system.
