The murder of Patrice Lumumba, former Communist leader of the Congo, has been the occasion for a convincing demonstration of how well Moscow has organized its members throughout the world.
With the official news that Patrice Lumumba was dead, the first Communist-organized demonstration broke out with an angry mob converging on the Belgian embassy in Moscow. This was the signal for demonstrations in all the major centers of the world — Rome, London, Belgrade, New Delhi, Bombay, Jakarta, Vienna, Cairo, Khartoum, Damascus, Ottawa, Washington, New York, etc.
The ability of the Kremlin to organize its power among the nationals of so many different countries is a dismaying testimony to the strength of the Communist party throughout the world. No such demonstrations materialized when the troops of Lumumba were murdering Belgian men and raping Belgian women during the first days of Congo independence.
And while Moscow is thus demonstrating how it has gathered its strength in the centers of the world, even in the Western world, the West continues to hide its head in the sand, frightened to show any signs of resistance, hoping that if they show only meekness and appeasement, the big bad bear will go away and leave them alone.
When Moscow released the two American flyers who had been illegaly shot down and imprisoned by the Russians, the Americans greeted the release with delight hailing it as a friendly gesture by the Soviets and the dawn of a new era of friendly relationship. President Kennedy even ordered top government officials to avoid anything in their public utterances which might give offence to the butchers in the Kremlin.
How unutterably naive and soft-headed!
Any gesture that the Communists may make has nothing to do with the furtherance of international goodwill and peace. Such gestures have one objective the furthering of Communist domination of the world.
The recent wave of demonstrations must serve notice to the leaders of the West that there are fifth columns working actively in each and every important center of the world, including those of the West. The only way that such organizations can be counteracted is to set the citizens of the free world on the alert against Communist propaganda. Instead of disseminating such propaganda via the press, radio and television instead of showing and giving programs which glorify the technical accomplishments of Red China and Moscow - let the people know what life under the iron fist of the Communist dictatorship is really like. Stop being afraid of offending the masters in the Kremlin. Speak out boldy against them to the people. Put a halt to the march towards Socialism which is taking place in our country, for Socialism is the last step before out and out Communism.
Let us take our heads out of the sand and take a good long look at the terrifying facts of reality. Perhaps it will wake us up and set us to work fighting this menace before it is too late.

... In a few years, he went on, one of two things would happen in Africa. Either progress would be paralyzed with total ruin of economies, degradation of peoples, and the horror of internecine strife, or there would be experiments in international colonialism irresponsible and inhuman before which black men, cultured or not, would be no more than statistical elements.
