“With determination, you followed in the footsteps of Louis Even”

on Tuesday, 01 March 2022. Posted in Testimonies

Marcel Lefebvre was appreciated by the many people from Africa whom he had met. One, Most Rev. Mathieu Madega, Bishop of Gabon, attended four of our Study Sessions on Economic Democracy in Rougemont, Quebec. Here is his tribute following Mr. Lefebrve's passing.

Beloved Marcel Lefebvre, valiant fighter for Social Credit, we will miss your smile, even as you remain present in our hearts. Although you are now on the other side, we still feel you among us, thanks to the "communion of saints" declared in the Apostle's Creed. So, Ave Maria, stand for the struggle with the Immaculate Heart of Mary and Saint Michael the Archangel!

Louis Even, strong in his Catholic faith, discovered Social Credit, or Economic Democracy, thanks to Scottish engineer, Clifford Hugh Douglas. It is a true solution to the problem of 'poverty amidst plenty'.

Relying on the Holy Scriptures and the teachings of the popes of the Church, Mr. Even, despite difficulties and roadblocks, engaged in the noble fight for Economic Democracy under the protection of the Virgin Mary and Saint Michael the Archangel.

Marcel Lefebvre, in turn, followed in the footsteps of Louis Even with determination, dedication, enthusiasm, great joy, firm hope, charity and admirable pugnacity. He used these qualities to advance new horizons. Like a good rugby player with the ball in hand, he rushed into the fray. Bravo, Marcel Lefebvre!

May God help the surviving Pilgrims to continue Marcel's fight with prayer and concrete commitment. Praise be to God who has showered you with blessings for a noble cause, Economic Democracy.

Marcel Lefebvre, you are now partaking in the wedding banquet of the Lamb. Please greet all the Pilgrims of Saint Michael who are already in heaven, especially Louis Even, Mrs. Côté-Mercier and your brother, Réjean. On the last day, freed from the debt-money system, we will join you and be 'through Him, with Him and in Him' in eternal peace and light alongside the Virgin Mary, Saint Michael the Archangel and all the saints.

+ Bishop Mathieu Madega
