The following notes on the fluoridation problem, have been taken from an article, Defenders of fluoridated water never touch the stuff, which appeared in the February, 1961, issue of Prevention magazine.
President Eisenhower did not drink fluoridated water while he was in the White House... To settle all doubts as to what the president actually drank, we have the words of Major Snyder (Eisenhower's physician) himself, duly reported in the Washington Post for June 2, 1960. "The President's physician yesterday said that Mr. Eisenhower's good health may be due more to bottled mineral water than to his doctor's medical skills," said the Post. "Dr. Snyder said the President drinks bottled rather than tap water, both at home and during his travels..."
Dr. Gerald J. Cox, perhaps the foremost promoter of fluoridation at the present time, drinks bottled spring water. He lives in Pittsburgh, but travels widely throughout the country promoting fluoridation. He is emotional and fiery in his protestations as to the safety and desirability of other people drinking fluoridated water. Pittsburgh water is fluoridated. Why do you suppose Dr. Cox does not drink it? Our proof comes from the Polar Water Company which indicates that both Dr. Cox and Dr. Jonas Salk, another well-known Pittsburgh resident, drink the bottled spring water.
