As this journal was about to go to the press, we learned of the sudden death of our Directress, Mrs. Gilberte Côté-Mecier, on June 21, 2002, at the age of 92. She founded the "Michael" Movement with Louis Even in 1939, and after his death in 1974 continued to lead it in a masterful way. Her husband, Gérard Mercier, had died on September 4, 1997, at the age of 83.
Her departure is certainly a great loss for our Movement, but for those who have the Faith, they know that she will be more powerful now in Heaven to help us in our apostolate work. She has now joined Louis Even and Gérard Mercier in Heaven, with all the other departed Social Crediters, to fight the powers of darkness, and to establish social justice upon the earth. Let us pray for her, but let us also pray to her to send us new apostles and to give us more fire to solicit subscriptions to "Michael"!
There will be more details in our next issue.
In this special issue of the journal, MICHAEL, the reader will discover who are the true rulers of the world. We discuss that the current monetary system is a mechanism to control populations. The reader will come to understand that "crises" are created and that when governments attempt to get out of the grip of financial tyranny wars are waged.
An Efficient Financial System, written by Louis Even, is for the reader who has some understanding of the Douglas Social Credit monetary reform principles. Technical aspects and applications are discussed in short chapters dedicated to the three propositions, how equilibrium between prices and purchasing power can be achieved, the financing of private and public production, how a Social Dividend would be financed, and, finally, what would become of taxes under a Douglas Social Credit economy. Study this publication to better grasp the practical application of Douglas' work.
