Cardinal Monsengwo, passed away

on Tuesday, 27 July 2021. Posted in Obituaries

A good friend from Africa

His Eminence Laurent Cardinal Monsengwo Pasinya, Archbishop Emeritus of Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, passed away on July 11, 2021, at the age of 81. He spoke loudly in favor of justice, and greatly appreciated the work of the Pilgrims of St. Michael. Our collaborator from Ivory Coast, Louis Fahe, passing through the DRC in 2014, had the opportunity to be received by the cardinal. He let him know that he received our magazine and appreciated it very much. He eagerly agreed for his priests to come and attend our study sessions in Rougemont on economic democracy. Our director general, Mr. Marcel Lefebvre, also met the cardinal in January 2017. He had expressed his desire to come and attend one of our sessions in Rougemont, but Providence decided otherwise.

Our most sincere condolences to his successor at the Archdiocese of Kinshasa, Fridolin Cardinal Ambongo (who came to Rougemont in 2010), as well as to all the faithful of the archdiocese. We pray to Cardinal Monsengwo for the development of the Work of MICHAEL in his dear country.
