Apostolate in the East Coast

Written by Yves Jacques on Monday, 01 June 2009. Posted in Pilgrims of St. Michael

On April 28, 2009, feast of St. Louis de Montfort, founder of the "The Total Consecration to Mary", Pascal Richard, a 22-year-old full-time missionary and I began our tour through the United States. We travelled through eight states doing meetings to present the work of the Pilgrims of St. Michael. We had chosen to dedicate our tour to the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title of "Our Lady of America".

Over the past few years there has been an increased interest in the work of the Pilgrims of St. Michael in the United States. The office in Massachusetts has been receiving phone calls and letters from all across the U.S. asking for more information on our work and requesting speakers for their areas.

With the present collapsing economy and the huge increase in our debt (an increase of 3 trillion dollars in the past 6 months alone), Americans are realizing the need to come together to find a solution to this financial crisis. Pope Benedict XVI, speaking recently on the present economic crisis said:

"It is the Church’s duty to denounce the fundamental errors that have now been revealed in the collapse of the major American banks. Human greed is a form of idolatry that is against the true God, and is a falsification of the image of God with another god, Mammon. We must denounce this courageously, but also concretely, because grand moralizations are not helpful if they are not supported by a familiarity with reality, which helps us to understand what can be done concretely. The Church has never simply denounced evils; it also shows the paths that lead to justice, to charity, to the conversion of hearts. In the economy as well, justice is established only if there are just persons. And these persons are assembled through the conversion of hearts."

These words from Pope Benedict XVI became the theme of our talks as we traveled through the states of Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. We met with many different organizations and we held meetings with prayer groups and in parishes. There is a great awareness for the need to apply the Catholic Social Teaching through Social Credit. We explained how this can be done through the establishing of Local Exchange Systems on a community level.

We also stressed the absolute need for conversion. In the message of Our Lady of America, she asks that we live the "Indwelling of the Holy Trinity" by remaining in the state of sanctifying grace, imitating the Holy Family of Nazareth for the sanctification of the family and to save America.

People responded with great enthusiasm. We delivered over 70,000 leaflets on Our Lady of America, The Holy Mass, The Rosary and The Corrupt Federal Reserve System. We also received about 600 new subscriptions to the Michael Journal.

We thank all of you who were so generous in receiving us in your homes and ask Our Blessed Mother to shower her many graces upon you all. We were very touched by your strong faith and hope. You truly are, in the words of Our Lady of America, the torchbearers of the Queen. We would also like to invite anyone who would be interested in hosting a presentation in their parish or prayer group to please contact us at 1-888-858-2163.
